Migraine Headache Treatment

Filed under: Health Center — @ 10:29 pm

Migraine headaches are described as being of a recurrent nature. They are characterized by certain symptoms that precede the actual onset of the headache. These are called prodromal symptoms and may include one or several typical symptoms in each patient. The prodromal symptoms include spots before the eyes, visual field defects, flashes of light, unusual sounds, irritability, depression, restlessness, and anorexia, to name a few. The symptoms may disappear when the headache begins or may merge with it. The symptoms usually follow the same pattern time after time for each patient, and become good indicators that a headache is on the way. Most of the time the headaches will be on the same side, but this is not an absolute rule. The patient may have attacks on a daily basis or they may occur once every few months.

Without treatment, the attacks may last for hours or days. It is not uncommon for the patient to experience nausea and vomiting and an aversion to light. Many people who suffer from migraines will tell you the only way to stop them is to remain in a dark room with a wet wash cloth over their eyes.

The cause of migraine headaches is unknown. Because of the various prodromal symptoms, most medical authorities believe that they are caused by a functional disturbance in the veins of the scalp and within the cranium. Many alternative health care practitioners believe that all diseases begin with a disturbance of the energy fields that surround the body. Because the body uses electrochemical impulses to transmit its messages throughout the body, it generates a magnetic field. In terms of what we normally experience with magnetism, the magnetic field of the body is weak. It is considered to be “biomagnetism,” and until recently it was not detected in scientific research. However, more modern instrumentation has allowed researchers to measure the weak electric fields generated in living systems.

The approach in energy healing is to consider the body of a living organism to be one complete whole. Unlike the “systems” approach where each system is studied as an independent unit (circulatory system, digestive system, respiratory system, etc.) the holistic approach is to consider the complete organism. When any part of the organism is not functioning properly, it affects the entire organism. For certain individuals, this results in a disturbance that results in the symptoms of a migraine headache. The prodromal symptoms are the body’s early warning system. If the warnings are not headed, the cry for help becomes louder and louder until they become incapacitating. Balancing the energy on a routine basis has the potential to keep these symptoms from ever occurring. In my practice I found that many patients experienced fewer headaches, less severe headaches, and in some cases the headaches were eliminated altogether. Below are a few of the testimonials from some of the patients who received help with managing their migraine headaches. Some found that other problems they were experiencing were also relieved.

Keys To A Successful Home Renovation Project

Filed under: Universe Of Home Improvement — @ 11:11 am

Contemplating some home improvements? Whether it is a small project or a major renovation there are two primary keys to success:

1. Planning: Have you considered what disruption the project will have on you and your family’s day to day ability to function? As an example, laying some ceramic tile on the bathroom floor may take the bathroom out of service for two days. In a one bathroom home this could prove to be a major obstacle to any bathroom renovation. Kitchen renovation can also cause complexities if major appliances have to be temporarily moved, besides the necessity to make sure floor surfaces are not damaged while providing a temporary relocation, refrigerators need to be powered. Even a small project such as repainting a room can create major inconveniences because of furniture relocation and paint odors.

Always make a list of material and tools that you will require, before starting the project. Then make sure you know where the tools and material (the material that you believe you already have is) are, collect them, verify that they are useable and then place them all in a convenient location so that you can find them when you need them.

2. Knowledge: Whether you are going to do the project yourself or hire a contractor, knowledge is the second key to ensuring that the job will be completed to your satisfaction. Invest some time in learning about the materials that you are going to use and the tools needed to install them. Believe it or not the manufacturers of the materials and products that you are going to use know more about them than you do. If a manufacturer says allow the adhesive to cure for 24 hours before applying the grout, don’t apply the grout in 12 hours. If a manufacturer says that his flooring needs to acclimatize in your home for 72 hours before installation, don’t bring it home and immediately start installing it.

If you are hiring a contractor you must check his references and you must understand what material he is intending on using. There are vast differences in quality levels of materials. If a contractor says he will install an oak plank hardwood floor, there are many questions to ask about the grade, dimensions and finish of the material. Prices can vary from $2.00 to $15.00 a sq. ft.

Proper planning and knowledge will make a big difference in the overall success and satisfaction with your next home improvement or renovation project.

Emotional Eating - Shedding Light on Your Hidden Patterns

Filed under: Online MedicalResources — @ 3:50 am

Are you hungry or is there something else going on when you think about food? There are various reasons for deciding to eat. Regrettably, not all of these are for sustenance, nutrition, or observing a balanced diet. If you’ve realized that you like to eat for other reasons, then it might be time to sort out the problem. One of the main reasons why you may find yourself eating is as a way to avoid dealing with emotion. If this is an issue, then there are several ways to distance yourself from this type of eating.

Telltale characteristics are implicated in emotional eating. You should recognize these, lest they lead you to ongoing weight gain, or being unable to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. Often an emotional eater will eat when they feel depressed, angry, or stressed. Boredom is also a cause for overeating, and can begin the cycle of emotional eating.

Other factors are at play in emotional eating as well. For example, one who eats from emotion will often times head automatically for the refrigerator after they come home, without even realizing it. You may also find that it is hard to talk about emotions openly with others. Food takes the place of talking.

If you suspect that you do have an emotional eating problem, the first thing you should do is to look at your feelings and try and discover which emotions are contributing to the problem. Monitor your behaviors and feelings when you are eating and try to be more aware at those times.

When and How

Notice when you eat and how much you eat. Eating when you are not hungry, eating too fast, or eating while ignoring something stressful, are signs of emotional eating. If you can notice when you are eating, move away from the food areas. You can go into an area until you calm down and allow your emotions to slow down.

Try breaking up patterns and habits. For example, having a quick bite when you get home from work. Recognizing your patterns is the first step to breaking them, and becoming aware is the first step to recognizing these patterns and moving away from being controlled by your emotions.

Internet Marketing Reality Check

Filed under: Marketers Den — @ 10:57 pm

There are thousands of web sites, books, CD-ROM’s, cassette tapes and various other forms of communication devoted to the topic of Internet marketing. The majority of these sites profess to offer “secret strategies” and “killer tactics” which promise to increase your chances of having success on the Internet. Of course you must fork over your hard earned cash for these wonderful pearls of wisdom. (Many of which turn out to be nothing more than pyramid schemes and other scams)

With all of these so called experts lining up to take your money and fill your head with dreams of making easy millions you may find it difficult to filter out the facts from the fiction. I will take the unenviable role of fact giving, bubble burster and tell you flat out, “There are no secrets to successful Internet marketing!”

Let me repeat myself, I said, “There are no secrets to successfully Internet marketing”

Successful marketing, whether its online or off, requires careful planning and a lot of hard work. And no amount of marketing will ever meet with success if the product being marketed is a bad one. This is especially true of web sites, which carry the remarkable distinction of the almighty back button. I know this from first hand experience with companies that have spent ridiculous amounts of money to market web sites which were basically unusable.

Now that your dreams of sailing around the ocean sipping margaritas, while an Internet cash machine deposits six figure sums into your bank are thoroughly dashed, lets explore some of the common issues associated with true Internet marketing success as well as a few of the many misconceptions.

The same principles that govern off-line marketing practices apply to online marketing. Research, Planning, and Analysis.

Research:

Determine what makes your product or service stand out from the crowd. What do you offer that the competition doesn’t? How do your prices compare to others in the market? What features of your product are one of a kind? All of this information will help in designing your web site to reflect a unique selling proposal. A unique selling proposal answers the customer’s question, “What’s in it for me?” Gather all the information possible that answers this question and use it in planning your web site.

Planning:

Develop a marketing strategy for your web site.

Are you selling merchandise online? Are you advertising a service? Who are your customers? You must determine exactly what it is that you want your website to accomplish. Example: If your web site is focused on making it easier for potential customers to learn about your services, focus your attention on offering as much information about your services as possible. Price comparisons of your competition, directions to your business location, contact information, testimonials, etc.,are a good place to start. Plan your web site around a central goal.

Analysis:

So your web site is up and running, you have developed a marketing strategy and people are interested in your product. Now its time to figure our what is working and what isn’t. This aspect of marketing your web site can be one of the most difficult to understand. This goes well beyond simply counting the number of visitors to your site. It requires analyzing the habits of those who travel to your site. Determining what features of your site compel visitors to purchase your products, what features turn visitors away. It is important to analyze every single feature of your web site, from the sales copy to the navigation. You must understand how every feature of your web site supports or detracts from your marketing success.

Hopefully by now you realize that Internet marketing requires more than just an out-of-the-box solution. There is no magical formula to marketing online, and those who say otherwise should be scrutinized. The incredible variety of businesses online require individual marketing strategies and plans. A real estate web site should not be marketed the same way as one selling comic books. Any salesman would have a difficult time selling denture glue to a teen-ager, it just doesn’t fit. And neither do one size fits all marketing plans. Target markets have to be considered. Planning, strategy and analysis must be carried out in order to achieve any kind of lasting success.

Make your web site usable and you will gain success!

Now, if you would like to send me a check for $30 for this “killer strategy” please feel free to do so. Otherwise, take this bit of information and file it in the “critically important” category. By usable, I’m talking about such web site considerations as working links, fast loading pages, limited use of images, animations and other “fluff” that will make most users hit the back button faster than you can blink a virtual eye.

Fact: Most Internet users will hit their back buttons if a web page doesn’t load in 20 seconds or less. Increasing the speed at which your web site loads greatly increases the likelihood that it will ever be seen.

Submit your site to 100,000 search engines for just $29.95 !!! Beware of offers like this, the truth is there are only a handful of search engines that most people use to find things online. Concentrating your marketing efforts on these few search engines is much more effective than having your site listed in a million places that nobody will ever see Bear in mind that most of these multiple search engine submittal sites are profit driven, and the only one making a profit is them.

Fact: Google and Yahoo are currently the major players in the search engine game comprising 54% and 41% of all Internet searches respectively.(Source: Comscore Media Metrix 05/04) There are several techniques to achieving higher rankings with these two search engines none of which are secrets. Read my article on search engine optimization for more information about this important topic.

Number 1 Ranking in Google! Guaranteed!

I have seen many web sites offering search engine ranking services, making claims like the one above, The truth of the matter is that it is impossible to guarantee a number one ranking with Google’s free search engine submission. As I have stated previously there are a number of strategies and steps that can be taken to optimize your web site for search engine placement and achieve the highest rankings possible. Guaranteed results are a myth, it is possible to have the highest ranking in Google for search terms that aren’t commonly used, but then, what’s the point?

Fact: It is true that you can purchase advertising space using the Google service called AdWords. Advertisements appear in the right hand column of Google search pages.

Successful marketing of your business online requires time, effort and patience. There are no easy solutions. But, a fair amount of devotion and common sense can yield truly impressive results.

Winclear :How To Clear Google Search History Safari

The main reason behind it is that “PC security” is a broad term which home users and corporate customers understand quite differently. Basically every owner of a PC or laptop wants its data safe, and don’t want uncontrolled activity inside the box like adware pop-ups. But corporate networks care about intrusions and possible loss of data that cost millions of dollars, so they have too much put at stake. The major drawback is the deceleration of the computer system.

In April Panda Software warned Internet users of a new particularly brazen scam aimed at stealing confidential information. The technique used here looks like a hybrid between phishing and a fraudulent website. Panda Software identified several websites offering cheap airline tickets which in fact weren’t selling anything; the aim was to cheat users out of credit card details. Data loggers, key loggers are just a few programs which harvest info from your computer. Winclear is the only program created specially to auto remove such spywares. AccSent monitors account access attempts and issues a one-time PIN challenge to those coming from IP address ranges or browsers that differ from the last authorized account access. That is why every computer owner needs winclear.

Protect With Winclear :Internet History From Another Computer
There are Trojans keyloggers that monitors Internet Explorer windows until a user visits the e-gold login page: e-gold.com/acct/login.html. Once the user is logged in, the Trojan opens a hidden Internet Explorer window in which it accesses the user’s account balance: e-gold.com/acct/balance.asp. Winclear is the only software which is capable of removing keylogger programs. Spyware is a constant and annoying problem. Winclear has been the industry leader in fighting keyloggers for the last 8 years.

Winclear:
It provides you with extensive spyware and adware protection. That is the reason why you need Winclear installed onto your computer. An unexpected attack over which you have no control is a good reason why you should have anti-virus and anti-spyware protection. Protect your computer security by using Winclear! What Has Matching Got To Do With Presenting?

Filed under: University Of Management — @ 2:56 am

The secret to presenting to a potential client is “matching.” Prior to presenting, you would have asked plenty of questions and uncovered the problems they want solved. The next step then is to present your solution and to do lots of matching.

What do I mean by matching? Matching is where you make the connection between the problems a potential client wants solved and the features/characteristics of your service that solves those problems.

Your solution has lots of features/characteristics and some are relevant to the potential client and some are not. You want to sort all your features and characteristics into two piles. Pile one consists of the features/characteristics they care about - as they solve the specific problems they have discussed with you. Pile two consists of the features/characteristics they will not care about - as they don’t solve any of the problems they have discussed with you. Note that you can only do this sorting if you’ve asked enough questions before you present.

To prepare for your presentation, look at all the features/characteristics your potential client cares about (pile one). The next step is to then “match” each of the problems they want solved to the feature/characteristic of your service that will solve it for them. When you present, you then show the connection between the problems they have agreed they want solved and the features/characteristics of your service that solves those problems.

If you do not do the matching for your potential client, they will be left trying to work out what aspect (features/characteristic) of your service can solve their problems. Also if you do not do the matching, your potential client will feel you haven’t listened to them, amongst other things.

To explain this further, I am going to use a simple example of buying a car. Even though I do not like stereotype car salesmen, this is a good example for matching, plus it is an example you can probably relate to.

Scenario One

The car salesman asks you what sort of car you’re looking for and what is important to you. You tell him. He then shows you a car and proceeds to tell you all about the features of the car that you frankly could not care less about. He just goes on and on telling you absolutely everything about the car. Sound familiar?

Scenario Two

The car salesman asks you what sort of car you are looking for and what is important to you. You tell him. He then shows you a car and describes exactly what features of the car will give you each of the things you said are important to you.

Who would you buy the car from? Would you buy from the car salesman in scenario one or scenario two? Who did matching?

What would you be thinking with the scenario-one car salesman?

You might be thinking:

- He didn’t listen to me.
- He doesn’t understand me.
- Why did he ask me what I wanted as he clearly wasn’t interested?
- I am not sure if it meets my needs. I am confused.
- I am bored and irritated.
- How can I get away from this person?

What would you be thinking with the scenario-two car salesman?

You might be thinking:

- He really listened to me.
- He understands me.
- I can clearly see how this meets my needs.
- I am interested.

When you present your solution, demonstrate that you have been listening and that you understand their problems. Only present the features/characteristics that solve the specific problems they have been telling you about. That is what they’re interested in and what they will care about. The key to presenting is in the matching!

Contracts with Web Site Designers and Hosting Companies

There are many aspects to website development agreement, particularly if there are to be on-going things for the designer to do once the site has been set up. The core issues that should be considered are set out as follows…

Functional Specification
The Functional Spec defines what the software house is required to deliver. Approproate provisions should be built into the contract to ensure that the software developer has promised to deliver - the functional specification should delinate this work clearly. This naturally implies that the specification should be in writing - it is highly desirable to have a detailed written specification for your website agreed between you and the designer, so that everyone knows where they stand from the beginning. This makes sure that the designer knows what he has to do for his fees, particularly if they are fixed. You also need to consider what items may be extras and how much they will cost.

Registration of Domain Names
Ensure that the web designer is obliged to register the domain name (if he/she is doing so) in your name, not his own name. Also ensure that you are not merely hiring the name from the designer.

Full Title Guarantee - Warranty
Ensure that the contract includes a warranty by the designer that all content he/she supplies is free of third party intellectual property rights and that he will indemnify you on a “full indemnity basis” against any costs, claims and liabilities arising from breach of that warranty.

Assignment of Copyright
Try and make sure that you get copyright in the site. It is reasonable for the designer normally to insist on payment before copyright is acquired. On larger projects you might like to include a provision whereby the copyright in material produced up to specific agreed milestones passes to you once the invoice for that particular milestone has been paid. This way you do not have a total loss situation if you fall out with the designer during the contract.

System and Software Performance and Legal Requirements
Where there are particular legal requirements for your site, make sure that the designer understands these and make sure also that they are obliged to guarantee that whatever they have to do will work legally. You should not expect the designer to advise you or guarantee legal compliance but you should expect any specific instructions you give on that subject (having first consulted with your solicitor on the subject) to be followed and for that work to be guaranteed. This might include such matters as preventing orders being processed without the customer first accepting your terms of business using a pop-up window.

Maintenance Obligations
Where there are on-going maintenance obligations on your designer, you need similar provisions regarding further developments of the site (e.g. regarding copyright, etc). Where they are also hosting your site you need to have warranties regarding security of information when taken from site visitors and also when it is stored by the hosting company and also when it is onwardly transmitted to your own servers/PC. You will also want some kind of service standard agreed for downtime (if they cannot guarantee their services are up at least 97% of the time in any given month you should probably look elsewhere) and response to requests for support and for handling emergencies.

Do You Need A Fishing Guide?

Filed under: Hall Of Lifestyle — @ 8:58 am

Often times when one is planning a fishing trip, the question of
a fishing guide comes up. They’re costly so the first reaction
is to forgo a guide - after all, you already know how to fish,
right?

This may or may not be true. You might very well be an expert
fisherman that can get along quite well without a guide but if
you are traveling to a far away area and are not familiar with
the fishing condition, then a guide could really come in handy.

Now having said that, I will say that a guide is simply that - a
guide. He can tell you where he thinks the fish will be and even
help you land one, but the real work is up to you. Just because
you spend a lot of money on a guide does not mean you will catch
a fish or even see one, but it could greatly increase your
chances.

Most guides are great fishermen themselves and know the local
area like the back of their hands. They are up on current
conditions and know where the fish are right at the moment. They
spend all their time fishing the river or lake, and probably
have for many years, so they know where the best fish can be
caught. Without a guide, you can waste a lot of time just trying
to find those fish.

If you do decide to hire a guide, you need to make your fishing
goals clear to him or her at the outset in order to make sure he
can deliver what you want. Some things to discuss include the
type of fish you want to catch, if you want to catch a lot of
fish or just big ones, and the technique you prefer to use.

You should also find out if the guide has experience in your
desired area. During these discussions you may find out that the
guide recommends a different fishing style that what you have
proposed in order to catch the kinds of fish you want. These are
things you will have to consider.

A guide can cost you anywhere between $100 to $200 a day and
please don’t forget to tip him - even if you don’t catch any
fish. For your money you will get expert advice on the best
fishing locations, expert tips on how to catch those fish and a
wonderfully delicious shore lunch.

One thing that some anglers do on an extended trip is to hire
the guide for the first few days and then go it alone for the
rest of the trip. This way you can benefit from his advice and
save a few bucks too. Don’t be afraid to let the guide know this
is your plan, he might be able to leave you with some parting
tips so the rest of your trip is just as fruitful as the
beginning.

The question of whether or not a guide is worth it does not have
the same answer for every angler. If this is your one big
vacation and catching fish is of the utmost importance, then
springing for a guide is probably well worth it.

Step 2 To An Ideal Relationship: Nurturing Your Self Esteem, Self Confidence & Self Worth

Filed under: Misc Stuff — @ 10:41 pm

In my recent article “Ten Steps To An Ideal Relationship” I mentioned that Step 2 had to do with nurturing your own self esteem, self confidence and self worth.

Too many individuals neglect themselves and thus wind up feeling very needy. This neediness then lures them into the unconscious belief that a relationship will help fill such needs. This is a recipe for disaster as it sets up unstable and often abusive co-dependent relationships that lead no where.

You see it is necessary to be and feel like a whole and complete person “before” you enter into a relationship rather than expecting that the relationship will help make you complete.

Most people however have this erroneous philosophy. For instance how many times have you heard statements like “You complete me”?

Well that last statement has built into it the implicit belief that “Without you I’m deficient”. That is the same way as saying in a less ingratiating way “I’m needy”!

So if that is what you inherently believe about yourself what do you think that does to your feelings of self esteem, self confidence and self worth? The answer is more that obvious isn’t it?

To nurture one’s self in these areas means to become aware of releasing all those negative beliefs that you have been programmed and conditioned by as a result of having lived your life so far.

Most negative beliefs about one’s self are rooted and justified by the negative experiences they have had.

For instance if one has been abused as a child they may feel and therefore believe themselves to be: unlovable, bad, unacceptable, defective, responsible for others pain and so on.

Carrying all of this stuff on board makes one feel worthless, inadequate and terrible about one’s self. Additionally it leaves them with a deep sense of emptiness that needs to be filled.

That emptiness is the result of having turned against themselves in such a way that they can no longer feel love for themselves. They therefore look to others to love them, to validate them and therefore make them feel good about themselves, complete, worthy and self confident.

In other words they try to get the “need” filled through their relationship.

This is not only unwise as it leads to unhealthy codependency it is also dishonest and exploitative.

So if I’ve made my point and you want some support in this area of your life kindly visit the web link below.

Stored Value Cards - Prepaid Convenience

Filed under: Online Finance — @ 4:52 pm

You see them everywhere - gift cards, restaurant cards, phone cards and more. These stored value cards (SVCs) electronically store any funds you pay in advance to make a purchase, pay a bill or withdraw money at a later date. They’re also very convenient to use.

A growing number of consumers simply don’t like to carry cash around or write checks anymore. SVCs are an attractive financial alternative to many of these consumers who now prefer to make a majority of payments electronically.

Even employers and select government agencies are getting in on the SVC action. Some employers now issue prepaid payroll cards, project cards, corporate travel and incentive (bonus) cards. The government agencies that issue these cards may also issue electronic benefit cards for people on public assistance or requiring other government services. Most recently, numerous families hit hard by the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina were issued a $2,000 prepaid debit card from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Anyone can purchase a SVC. There are no credit checks necessary or collateral required as all the available funds on each card are prepaid at the time of purchase. SVCs can be electronically loaded with funds by direct deposit, wire transfers, money orders sent directly to the card issuers or from retail point-of-sale. The prepaid funds are stored electronically in accounts attached to a specific batch of SVCs. Many SVCs can be reloaded with as many funds or as often as the cardholder likes.

Functionally, SVCs are very similar debit or credit cards. Many SVCs have a magnetic stripe that can be swiped at any debit/credit card terminal. Some cards require you to input your own personalized four-digit pin number. Others have a signature strip on the back and require a matching signature from the cardholder at point-of-sale.

SVCs are a part of the slow but steady transition to a “cashless society.” As more and more financial transactions occur not on paper, but in the electronic realm, SVCs will continue to play a growing role in the evolving financial industry of the 21st Century.
