The TLN runs a collection of city based internet sites where we connect players on the tennis courts.
Here are some of the metropolises in our program:
Portland Tennis, Dallas Tennis, Charlotte Tennis
Our playoffs Run after every season. Here is the playoff description:
How do the Playoffs Work?
We use the playoff system to determine who is the overall winner of the season. Its a single elimination tournament where we will eventually have one champion.
Tournaments are Skill Level Based
The brackets could have a bunch of players in it that you have never played before. Also participants who obtain wins from another skill level still qualify for the playoffs of the current division they are in. (* see below for a more detailed explanation)
Seedings & Brackets
We present all the participants on the Division report pages. League Rule #10 is used to decide the brackets:
Rule #10) Playoff Positioning
Regular season ties are broken by this order:
1) Overall Record, based on tennis matches over .500. 6-1 is 5 matches over, 8-2 is 6 tennis matches over and would be better.
2) In season Head-to-Head record for players tied after #1
3) We promote players playing tennis matches, so 6-1 would be better than 5-0.
4) % of games won
Say Five participants qualify. In a 5 person single elimination bracket the #1 qualifier will have a first round bye while qualifiers #4 and #5 play a quarter final match where the winner will play the #1 seed in the semi-finals. Seeds #2 and #3 will play in the other semi-final match. The victors of the two semi-finals matches will play for the championship.
Scheduling & Deadlines
The scheduling of the tennis matches follows the same format as the league as we really want the players to agree on a mutual time and location to play. We do have a rule where the higher seed does have choice of tennis court. Also the higher seed has choice of serve or side to start the playoff match.
Prize Pool & National Tournament
The victor of the tourney will receive an invite to the national championship that will be held at Crandon Park Tennis Center in Key Biscayne Florida on Nov. 5-7.
* They will also be seeded according to Rule #10 indifferent of which level the wins came from.
